Walla Walla WineTrail West
Be sure to slow down going through the postage-stamp-size town of Lowden, and not just because of the speed limit. Lowden is the home of L’Ecole No 41 and Woodward Canyon wineries, and because they are located next door to one another, they are a convenient stop traveling to and from Walla Walla. However, realize that these are but two among many splendid wineries on this WineTrail that offer a diversity of wines and tasting-room experiences. Many are well established, many are brand-new, but all possess a passionate desire to make great wine. At the end of the day, your biggest challenge could be identifying your favorite. All of these wineries are good and each offers some Kodak moments. WineTrail tip: Plan to pack a picnic and visit the Whitman Mission National Historic Site, located just off Highway 12.
