Prosser WineTrail South

With nine wineries to choose from, your biggest challenge in touring Prosser WineTrail South will be which one to visit first. Of course, anytime you can take Merlot Drive to Chardonnay Lane you have our attention...especially when the road takes you to Willow Crest and Thurston Wolfe wineries. Located near the town's center is one of the areas oldest wineries, Hinzerling. No visit here is complete without a taste or two of Hinzerling's popular ports. Also in downtown Prosser is Coyote Canyon, a relative newcomer that brings a lot of energy to the winemaking scene as the décor will testify. Snoqualmie Winery (one of the many properties of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates) is strikingly beautiful in a rustic timbered way and offers wines of great value. For those who like their wines organic, check out Snoqualmie's naked brand (while wearing clothes please). The newest winery -- and the grandest venue -- is Desert Wind right off of exit 82 in Prosser. Finally, make sure you budget time to check out Yakima Cellars. Here you can sample premium wines and learn about the Valley's winemaking history.
