Newberg WineTrail

“Hey WineTrail Guy, what’s your favorite WineTrail in Oregon?”

Good question, and I am often asked this. Most often I manage to disappoint my listeners because I tick off a bunch of WineTrails that are my favorite. After all, for me it’s a little like naming my favorite child – I love them all equally. However, I must confess that inevitably I include the Newberg WineTrail in my list of favorites. Here’s why.

My taste buds go bonkers at these wineries. I could spend a day at each of these wineries and help them close at night. It’s a pairing of Newberg WineTrail flavor profiles and my palate. Then too, the views of rolling hills with their rows of vineyards are stunning in this section of the north Willamette Valley. Pack a picnic for sure. But sans picnic, there are plenty of restaurants and bistros to sample. In fact, my tip for fellow WineTrail trekker is to make a reservation at the Painted Lady Restaurant for the end of the day munching and imbibing. It simply solidifies why wine is a perfect complement to Northwest cuisine. Cheers!
