The Kitsap Peninsula WineTrail will expose you to top-notch syrah and wines that rely on "cool climate grapes" with interesting names like madeleine angevine or siegerrebe. Just when you thought Washington wines were dependent upon Eastern Washington grapes, the folks at Bainbridge Island Vineyards and Winery will set the record straight. This WineTrail will take you along glorious Hood Canal and then on a ferry ride between Bainbridge and Seattle. With plenty of restaurants and overnight accommodations to choose from, your challenges will be to remember to pack a corkscrew and bring plenty of film for the camera (at least those digitally challenged).
