Eola – Amity Hills WineTrail North

Back in 1992 during the presidential election, Clinton’s team coined the phrase, “It’s the economy, stupid.” Well, with apologies to Bill, the analogy to the Eola – Amity Hills WineTrail North is “It’s the agriculture, stupid.” This is rich earth. This is farm country. This is a winegrowing region that requires a laid-back attitude to really appreciate. If you’re type A and have a need to attack 10 wineries in one day, the Eola – Amity Hills WineTrail North may not be your favorite.

You need to budget time for slow-moving farm trucks, stops at roadside fruit stands, and tasting room staff genuinely interested in how you are doing. Outside Amity (Latin for friendship) there’s even a dedicated plot of land for tractor pulling contests! You’ll need a car and plenty of carefree time to experience the products of Seufert Winery, Hauer of the Dauen, Methven Family Vineyards, Mystic Wines, Amity Vineyards, Kristin Hill Winery, and Coelho Winery of Amity. Pack your camera too – you’re about to enter the scenic zone.
