Syringa Winery
Located in Garden City, Syringa Winery is the result of Mike Crowley’s passion for making great wine. This is the pursuit of converting Idaho fruit into beyond quaffable palate pleasers. Mike states on his website, “[Syringa Winery] was conceived out of my love for wine, winemaking, and the winemaker lifestyle. I have worked as an Enologist and Assistant Winemaker for a number of years for other wineries in Washington and Idaho, gaining the experience I need to carry out my dream of owning and operating my own small boutique winery.” By the way, along the way Mike didn’t lose his sense of humanity while remaining optimistic. He’s a positive person with an infectious smile. Trust me on this. Just visit his winery (making sure that you have enough space in your car for a case of his award-winning Primitivo) and see what I mean. You’ll be smiling too.
Incidentally, for those non-Idahoan readers, Sryinga is the Idaho state flower. However, the winery’s name pays homage to Mike’s niece. His late sister, Heather, named her only daughter Syringa. That’s just part of Mike’s character.
