Russell Creek Winery
When I first met Larry Krivoshein in 2007, he was both owner and winemaker of Russell Creek, having launched the winery in the early days of the Walla Walla wine boom back in 1998. Fast-forward to 2010, and Larry is back at the helm following a brief detour.
You see, there was a period of time when Larry had "sold" the winery but evidently things didn't work out. In October 2010, Larry took back control of the winery and loyal fans of Russell Creek Winery can breath a sigh of relief. They can still find his ever-popular sangiovese, as well as the winery’s number-one seller, “Tributary,” a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and syrah. That’s reassuring.
On display at the winery are bottles bearing the famous “Diggers” label, showing a shovel stuck in the ground near Walla Walla, a nod to Larry’s former career as a funeral director. Even the hand-operated wine press that Larry first used sits on public display in the winery.
