Matthews Estate

Matthews Estate is located on an 8-acre estate in the heart of Woodinville. The tasting room opens to a spacious production facility. At $10, the tasting fee is a bit steep, but you get it back with any purchase. And, if you are like this WineTrail enthusiast, you won’t leave there empty handed.

Although it takes a number of people to make a successful winery, the public face of the winery is often the most important. As we heap praise on the owners and the winemakers, often the tasting room manager matters most. In the case of Matthews Estate, Warren Ball is the Tasting Room Manager and manages Matthews Estate’s two tasting rooms with great aplomb. To most weekend wine tasters, he’s the guy greeting visitors and pouring the wine. However, that’s just the tip of his management responsibilities as he coordinates volunteer staff, manages inventory and fulfills numerous shipping orders. When visiting Matthews Estate, pay attention to Warren – his brief comments about their wines speak volumes about what you are about to taste.

With winemaker Aryn Morrell at the helm, get ready for some spectacular red blends as well as delicious cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc, late harvest viognier, and cabernet franc. Cheers!
