Horan Estates Winery

Located in Cashmere’s Mission District just down the street from Aplets & Cotlets visitors center is Horan Estates Winery’s tasting room. Small, intimate, and inviting you won’t find combat tasting here. No sirree! Here you can visit with the tasting room person and learn about the family’s rich history in the Wenatchee Valley and what owner/winemaker Doug McDougall’s goals include.
At less than 500 cases per year, we’re talking artisan winemaking. These are small lot wines where the winemaker controls the product through taste and art with a modicum of science.
Horan Estates Winery is located in the same converted fruit warehouse with Waterville Winery and Crayelle Cellars. Badda-bing-badda-bang you can visit several wineries within 20 feet and not have to designate a driver. Nice.
Be sure and try the HVH Red Blend a double-gold medal winner of the 2011 San Francisco Chronicle’s wine tasting event. Their tasting notes indicate, “Bing cherries and a hunk of chocolate push their way to the palate.” That’s something this reviewer agrees with a smile.
