Hinzerling Winery

Located in the heart of Prosser, Hinzerling Cellars is not your ordinary “small lot” winery. A visit to Hinzerling Cellars calls for samples of Mike Wallace’s port and table wines, sipped amongst winemaking implements and well-used barrels. Established in 1976 by the Wallace family, Hinzerling Cellars is the Yakima Valley's oldest family-owned and -operated winery. More than a winery, Hinzerling also offers a place to eat and sleep at the Vintner’s Inn Bed & Breakfast, located next door to the winery. This comfortable inn even offers two pet-friendly rooms, where well-behaved animals (weighing no more than 200 pounds) are welcome. Call 800-727-6702 for reservations to stay overnight in the heart of wine country. On Saturday nights, the Vintner’s Inn Bed & Breakfast becomes a restaurant that features a six-course prix fixe menu. During the harvest season, September through October, the Vintner’s Inn wine bar is open from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For WineTrail enthusiasts, this is your opportunity to sample an array of some hard-to-find and interesting Yakima Valley wines. Call ahead to confirm restaurant and wine bar times and to get information about special events.

Part winery, part country inn, part restaurant and wine bar—Hinzerling Cellars offers the whole Yakima Valley Wine Country package. In addition, you will also have an opportunity to sample Mike Wallace’s great sense of humor and offbeat way of looking at life. Somehow, the port goes down real smooth when you’re smiling.
