Four Lakes Chelan Winery

Did you know that Chelan has four lakes? I’m sure that you are familiar with the 55-mile long Lake Chelan. However, there are three other lakes and they are mere ponds compared to the size of Lake Chelan. Yes indeed, Wapato, Roses and Dry Lakes are a little string of pearls waiting for picture snapping.

This is a small lot family winery with owner Don Koester investing in the love of his life and son Karl Koester doing the winemaking chores. Lake Chelan was Don’s boyhood retreat where he went every summer with his family to recreate. It was only natural that he would satisfy his love of the vine by planting a vineyard and nursery on the Manson side of the Lake.

From the deck of the Four Lakes Chelan Winery, you can swirl and sip while taking in the view of the nearby lake. The usual suspects of reds (cabernet, merlot, syrah) and whites (gewürztraminer, riesling, chardonnay) make for a nice afternoon (or evening). To say that this is an inviting space to break bread and slice some salami is a great understatement. In fact, it is one of the State’s top wineries to unpack a picnic basket and uncork some wine.
