Corvus Cellars
When Trio Vintners graduated from the “incubator comlex” at the Walla Walla Port of Walla Walla airport in 2010, an opportunity arose for Randall Hopkins to move his Corvus Cellars winery from Benton City to Walla Walla. Randall, who owns the winery along with wife Jennifer and winemaker friend Steve Lessard, opened their tasting room door in October of 2010 using fruit from their 6-acre vineyard on famed Red Mountain AVA. Now with Steve Lessard (formerly of Whitman Cellars) the opportunity is to sell wine directly to fans and new converts at incubator complex.
Now production can be amped up to around 2,000 cases and Corvus Cellars is a part of the Walla Walla buzz. Marketing the wine via direct sales just got easier with the increased traffic they’ll get – especially from Spring Release through fall crush. With its legendary Red Mountain fruit, look for Corvus Cellars to continue its focus on cabernet sauvignon and Bordeaux blends. Randall Hopkins, an executive in the Human Resources Department, has the Puget Sound in his rear view mirror with this move to Walla Walla.
