Castle Bridge Winery

Unedited

It's not a tasting room you associate with elegant chateau. Rather, the Castle Bridge Winery tasting room resides in a strip mall in Kent without vineyards in site. But that’s part of the charm and unpretentious nature of Castle Bridge Winery. Besides that, it reflects the easy going nature of owners/winemakers Bob and Linda Schlosser.

The name “schloss” has a connection with the word “castle” in German and so it’s no surprise that Castle Bridge Winery reinforces the name. Thus, you find a castle prominently displayed on the wine label – the kind of castle that you might find in the Rheingau that none other than Charlemagne ordained.

This winery is reminiscent of one of those pottery studios where you can have a party, be creative and paint your own ceramics. Indeed, at Castle Bridge Winery, you can create your own label, make wine and host a bottling party.

Still, if the inner-winemaker in you isn’t screaming to get out, you don’t need to worry. Visitors to Castle Bridge and can taste their wines and purchase affordable wines such as their popular Rooster Red or Lord Zachery’s Red (named after their son). After all, as Hannu Lehmusvuori said, “If your heart is warm with happiness, you’ll need a glass – if sorrow chills your heart, have two!”
