WineTrails of Oregon Goes Into Labor!
February 11, 2009
Posted February 11, 2009Yes indeed my WineTrail friends, WineTrails of Oregon went to the printer yesterday. The actual birth of the guidebook, however, won't be for another 12 weeks or so. Why? Because my printer is located in Hong Kong and it's the ol' proverbial 'slow boat from China' phenomenon. Thus, I am telling folks that the publication date is May 2009.
I am really stoked about this book. Featuring 10 gorgeous wine country regions, 24 unique WineTrails and 200 lip-smacking wineries, WineTrails of Oregon helps all would-be wine tourist tackle Oregon with ease (and fun). The book features the same look and feel of the WineTrails of Washington edition -- only better. (Sorry Washington). Lisa Pettit of Lisa Pettit Designs and Sunny Parsons chief editor, have returned for a return engagement following the success of the Washington guidebook. You will know right away that the Oregon edition is part of the WineTrail series.
The Oregon book required a couple thousand hours to compile. It was a sprint through Oregon during the summer of 2008 throughout Oregon. With camera and notebook in hand, I visited all 200 open-to-the-public wineries in Oregon. In the process, I fell in love with pinot, explored the 100 valleys of the Umpqua, and met some extraordinary people. I'm proud of this book and I think you will smile when you hug this baby!
Now it is on to WineTrails of Idaho to complete the Northwest series. The Idaho edition delivery date is early 2010. Following this, I (funds willing) will publish Best of WineTrails Northwest highlighting my favorite WineTrails throughout our great wine country region.
Happy WineTails!
