  • Steve Roberts is continuing his exploration of Pacific Northwest wine country. Fresh off the success of his first book, WineTrails of Washington, Roberts has published his follow-up, WineTrails of Oregon… Roberts' folksy style of writing gives this book a friendly feel, kind of like you have an expert wine-tasting companion with you in your car as you explore Oregon wine country.

  • Steve Roberts has done it again! I thought WineTrails of Washington was a very good book and it has been extremely helpful to us in our wine country travels in the state of Washington. I have no doubt that Steve’s new book will prove to be just as valuable for us in Oregon. For example, we have visited Oregon wine country on several occasions, the most recent being last fall; but I had no idea that he could find 200 Oregon wineries with regular tasting hours…I’ve already asked Steve what’s next after this book, so be on the lookout for WineTrails of Idaho next year. Congratulations again, Steve!

  • Today the unchallenged cham-peen of wine travel writing here in the Northwest is Steve Roberts, who calls himself the WineTrails Guy. His first book, WineTrails of Washington, is still the best reference for those wanting to hit the road in this state ... But Roberts has been busy elsewhere, spending a year on the winding back roads of Oregon, and his “WineTrails of Oregon – A guide for uncorking your memorable wine tour” (South Slope Productions, $24.95) is the result. Hefty (538 pages), reasonably comprehensive (200+ wineries), thoughtfully organized into 24 bite-sized individual tours, loaded with photos and maps, it is brimming with the author’s trademark joie de vivre.
