From Island hopping to fields of tulips and on to the foothills of the North Cascades, the Northwest Washington Wine Country is as diverse as the wine you will experience.

We group the wineries of Northwest Washington into two WineTrails. The San Juan and Lopez Island WineTrail includes only two wineries but you will need to budget plenty of time for getting to and from the Islands via a Washington State Ferry. Along the way, you will discover the charm of Friday Harbor and the quaintness of Roche Harbor.

The Northwest WineTrail keeps us on the mainland and includes eight wineries that offer fruit wines, hard ciders, wine from local grapes, and Bordeaux-style wines made from Eastern Washington grapes. Here, diversity rules and our palates celebrate. Often the best time to visit these wineries is in April during the annual Tulip Festival in Skagit County. Miles of red, orange, purple, and yellow tulips greet you in the Skagit Valley, as do the tasting room hosts where visitors will flock to enjoy their fresh spring releases.
